Cannara Biotech Inc. is currently looking for an Extraction/Distillation technician to join a dynamic team.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the authority of the Transformation Director, the Extraction/Distillation Technician is responsible for carrying out the decarboxylation and distillation processes as part of the refining process. This role will perform day-to-day duties in accordance with GMP and Health Canada regulations.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Operate and maintain the various equipment related to extraction/distillation;
- Collect data for analysis;
- Transport pre-treated cannabis material between production environments;
- Accurately perform and document all work in accordance with procedures (SOPs), batch records and good documentation practices;
- Adhere to hygiene, health and safety guidelines;
- Meet deadlines and critical deliverables;
- Follow procedures for all processes;
- Carry out sanitation activities in accordance with requirements;
- Perform distillation tasks as assigned by the Director and in accordance with procedures;
- Ensure equal compliance with quality assurance requirements during day-to-day operations;
- Identify opportunities for improvement and report issues to maximize efficiency, quality and performance while ensuring safety and reliability;
- Prepare samples for required analytical tests;
- Assist in the development and maintenance of distillation tools;
- Maintain detailed records of batch data in accordance with Health Canada regulation;
- Any other tasks necessary for the proper functioning of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Analytical chemistry techniques, laboratory techniques or any relevant combination;
- Experience in extraction is an asset;
- Experience with scientific laboratory equipment;
- Health and safety practices and precautions applicable to a laboratory;
- Ease with computer systems, software and hardware common to laboratory record-keeping procedures;
- Effective time management and ability to multitask;
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and requests;
- Hand-eye coordination and sufficient manual dexterity to perform manual tasks;
- Attention to detail;
- Excellent physical fitness;
- Able to work in a cold environment.
